Principles for selecting specialized solutions:
1. Generally, anhydrous methanol is used, and it is best to use a 1300 specific solution for a more sensitive endpoint. Methanol has good solution conductivity and solubility, and it is cheap and easy to obtain.
2. Aldehydes and ketones specific solutions can be used to determine non aldehydes and ketones, but the reaction kinetics are not as good as 1300. Most macromolecular substances containing carbonyl groups can use anhydrous methanol as the base solution, with only the more active carbonyl groups reacting with methanol to produce water.
3. Single component Karl Fischer reagents can be used in conjunction with specialized solutions.
